CODE GxP is the dedicated pharmaceutical and life-sciences practice of Code Barcelona. We bring more than a decade of digital work into a team built around regulated communication, complex review processes and long-term platform ownership.
Code Barcelona was founded in 2015 with a simple principle: digital platforms should be built with the same structural rigour that demanding organisations apply to their own operations. We did not set out to become a high-volume agency. We built a technical, design-led team able to stay close to complex projects and remain accountable after launch.
Over time, more of that work moved into pharma, biotech and other regulated environments. Medical and legal review, multiple stakeholder groups, traceable content, localisation and technical governance stopped being edge cases; they became design inputs. The specialism was not added as a marketing label. It grew out of the way the work itself had to be done.
CODE GxP is the result of that evolution: a focused practice for pharmaceutical and life-sciences companies, built on Code Barcelona’s wider digital experience. It brings strategy, UX, design, development, content and marketing into one coordinated team, so the platform and the communication around it are shaped by the same understanding of the sector.
A pharmaceutical digital project rarely has one owner. Marketing, medical, regulatory, legal, IT, procurement and local affiliates can all influence what gets approved, what gets built and what can change later. We design the project around that reality from the beginning.
For medical and regulatory teams, review is not treated as a final gate. Content structure, component behaviour, source ownership, localisation and governance are considered while the platform is being designed, so approval requirements do not have to be retrofitted at the end.
For marketing and brand teams, the platform still has to communicate clearly and evolve at market speed. We build flexible components, structured content and documented workflows so new pages, campaigns and market adaptations can be produced without breaking the system that keeps them controlled.
For IT and digital teams, that same structure means maintainable architecture, predictable integrations and a platform that can be operated beyond the launch phase rather than handed over as a finished black box.
The outcome is not simply a website that passes review and launches. It is a digital platform your teams can understand, operate and evolve without rebuilding the foundations every time the organisation, portfolio or market changes.
CODE GxP is the dedicated pharmaceutical and life-sciences practice of Code Barcelona, built around the review cycles, regulatory sign-off and multi-stakeholder approval that pharma, biotech and medtech projects require. It concentrates the process, tooling and account structure we use across laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, distributors and medical-device organisations into one specialist proposition, serving clients across Europe rather than treating pharma as a generic vertical add-on.
No, CODE GxP operates as a specialist practice within Code Barcelona rather than as a separate agency. Code Barcelona has worked across technical, industrial and regulated organisations since 2015, building the process discipline that regulated sectors demand. CODE GxP channels that same account structure and delivery process into a proposition built specifically for pharmaceutical, biotech and medtech teams, with the review and compliance constraints of that sector built into the process from the start.
Yes, our work page lists real projects across laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, distributors, biotech and medical-device organisations, not only the finished screens. Each case includes the scope, the stakeholders involved and the regulatory or review constraints that shaped the project, so you can judge fit against your own environment rather than against a polished demo. Ask us directly if you want examples closer to your specific sub-sector or project type.
No. We design and build websites, portals and digital platforms, but we also work on the brand, content and marketing layer around them. Strategy, UX, development, SEO, paid media, brand systems and content can sit within the same engagement when that produces a more coherent digital operation.
Alongside them. We define responsibilities early, bring review constraints into the project before design decisions harden, and document the platform so internal teams can operate it after launch. The aim is to reduce handoffs and ambiguity, not create another dependency.
Our work ranges from focused biotech and product-led organisations to larger pharmaceutical groups. Fit is driven less by headcount than by the complexity of the digital environment, the number of stakeholders involved and the need for a partner that can stay close to the project beyond launch.
