Pharmaceutical
SEO agency

Visibility in markets where nobody optimised.

We are a pharmaceutical SEO agency working on technical SEO, international SEO and migration continuity for regulated companies. Pharma search terms are low-volume and high-intent: a handful of qualified visits a month can be worth more than a campaign.

Pharmaceutical SEO agency
services: technical, international
and migration continuity

Most of the SEO problems we find in pharma are structural, not editorial: sites that changed domain and lost everything, catalogues Google cannot crawl, and twelve country sites competing with each other.

Scope
Category and scope

What pharmaceutical SEO
is really competing for

Low volume, high value

Pharmaceutical SEO behaves unlike consumer search. The terms that matter return a few dozen searches a month, in several languages, from a small number of people with real budget. Optimising for volume misses them entirely.

In scope

Technical SEO, international and multilingual targeting, migration continuity and redirect mapping, content architecture, AI search visibility, and the measurement setup underneath all of it.

Out of scope

Buying links, optimising for medical queries we are not qualified to answer, and promising positions. Nothing that would put a regulated company at risk for a short-term ranking is worth doing.

Pharmaceutical SEO
by segment

A distributor competes for hundreds of ingredient names. A laboratory competes for a dozen corporate terms. Pharmaceutical SEO tactics for the two have almost nothing in common.

Pharmaceutical SEO process
Four stages

How we run
pharmaceutical SEO

Four stages. In pharmaceutical SEO nothing gets written until the technical picture and the actual search demand are on the table.

TECHNICAL AUDIT
01
01

We find out what search engines can actually reach

In pharma the most valuable content is usually the least visible: catalogues behind filters, technical documents behind gates, country sites competing with each other. Pharmaceutical SEO starts there, not with a keyword list, because no amount of content fixes a site Google cannot crawl.

What we audit

Crawlability and indexation coverage. Whether catalogue and document pages are reachable at all. Site structure and internal linking. Language and region targeting across markets. Redirect history from previous migrations, which is where a surprising amount of lost visibility is buried.

What we quantify

How much of the existing content is indexed versus how much exists, and which structural problems are costing the most visibility right now.

Result

A list of structural problems ordered by impact, with the ones that are cheap to fix separated from the ones that need development time.

DEMAND MAPPING
02
02

Low volume, high intent

We map the real search demand in each market, which in this sector means a long list of specific low-volume queries rather than a handful of head terms. Pharma SEO is a coverage exercise: existing for the exact query at the moment somebody is evaluating suppliers.

What we map

Capability, product, technology and problem queries by market and language. Who inside a group owns which term, so affiliates stop competing with headquarters. Where competitors have left the space completely empty, which in this vertical is most of it.

What we prioritise

Terms with genuine commercial intent over terms with volume, and markets where the gap between demand and coverage is widest.

Result

A coverage plan aimed at the queries a buyer actually types, not at a traffic target that would never convert.

IMPLEMENTATION
03
03

Structure before content

We fix what exists before commissioning anything new. Most pharmaceutical sites already have the pages they need; those pages are simply unreachable, mistargeted or competing with a sibling market, and publishing more on top makes it worse.

What we implement

Technical fixes to crawlability and indexation. Language and region targeting with a clear canonical strategy. Content architecture and internal linking. Structured, directly answerable content so the site is citable by AI search. In migrations, path-preserving redirects with crawl verification and Search Console handover.

What we protect

Existing visibility. A migration that resets years of search history costs more than any campaign will recover, which is why redirect mapping is treated as the deliverable it is.

Result

Existing content that starts ranking before a single new article is written.

MEASUREMENT AND ITERATION
04
04

Proving it is not just your brand name

We separate branded from non-branded performance from the first report, because otherwise a rising line proves nothing except that more people already knew the company name.

What we track

Non-branded visibility by market and language. Indexation coverage against the pages that should exist. Qualified enquiries arriving from organic search. Citation in AI answers, which is increasingly where a specialist buyer starts.

What we iterate

Coverage gaps as they appear, cannibalisation between markets, and content that ranks but does not convert, which usually means the page answers a different question than the one being asked.

Result

Evidence of whether visibility is genuinely growing, market by market, rather than a dashboard that always trends upwards.

Pharmaceutical SEO FAQ

Pharmaceutical SEO questions

What regulated companies ask about search visibility.

Is SEO worth it when our search volumes are tiny?

Usually yes, for the opposite reason to consumer sectors. The value is not traffic, it is who the traffic is. A handful of visits a month from procurement leads evaluating suppliers can justify the whole programme, and the competition for those terms is often close to zero.

We changed domain and lost our rankings. Can that be recovered?

Often, at least partly, and the sooner the better. It usually comes down to per-path redirects that were never mapped, a Search Console change of address that was not done, and old inbound links pointing at URLs that now return errors. We have run migrations where that mapping was done properly and the new domain kept its visibility.

Our country sites compete with each other. What do we do?

This is the most common problem in international pharma groups. It is normally solved with correct language and region targeting, a clear canonical strategy and a decision about which market owns which term — not by writing more content, which usually makes it worse.

Can our product catalogue rank?

Only if it can be crawled. A large share of pharma catalogues are behind filters, scripts or gated downloads that search engines never reach. Fixing the structure normally produces more visibility than any content campaign, because the pages already exist.

How does AI search change this?

It rewards being clearly citable. Direct answers, structured content and unambiguous factual statements get quoted; long undifferentiated pages do not. In a specialist vertical where few competitors have done this work, it is currently one of the cheapest advantages available.

Do you guarantee positions?

No, and any agency that does is either guessing or simply bidding on your own brand name in paid search. We commit to the work itself and to measurement that separates branded from non-branded traffic, so you can see clearly whether real visibility and organic demand are growing over time, independent of any single ranking snapshot.
